Enniskillen St Patrick’s Celebrations Announced for 2026

Enniskillen will once again transform into a vibrant hub of culture, music and celebration this March as Project St Patrick launches its enhanced two‑day festival under the theme Shamrocks & Shared Stories. Taking place across St Patrick’s Eve (16 March) and St Patrick’s Day (17 March), the programme brings together music, family activities, spectacle on the water, and the much‑loved traditional parade in Ireland’s only island town.

The celebrations begin with an atmospheric evening at Enniskillen Castle, featuring live music, food and drink vendors, and a dramatic illuminated flotilla on Lough Erne, viewed from the Broadmeadow and river’s edge. Last year’s event attracted more than 5,000 attendees, and the expanded programme aims to further boost visitor numbers and overnight stays ahead of the main day’s festivities.

St Patrick’s Day itself will see an extended free fun day at Enniskillen Castle and Broadmeadow before the traditional parade moves through the heart of the town, crossing its iconic bridges and providing a focal point for locals and visitors alike. Crowd numbers of up to 30,000 are expected across the day.

Speaking at the launch of the events, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Barry McElduff, said: “Enniskillen and Omagh host the two main St Patrick’s Day events for Counties Fermanagh and Tyrone. These celebrations attract significant visitor numbers, support the local economy, and provide a full day of programmed activity for families and communities across the District.”

The Chair of Project St Patrick, Feargal Shannon added:
“The enhanced two-day programme in Enniskillen will provide a major lead-in to St Patrick’s Day, with music, food and drink at Enniskillen Castle, the flotilla on Lough Erne, celebrating Ireland’s only Island Town. We look forward to welcoming visitors and local audiences across both days.”

Delivered by volunteers, this programme of activities is sponsored by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, supported by Department for Communities, and backed by the generosity of Experience Enniskillen alongside many businesses, both large and small.
